POWERFUL VIDEO TESTIMONIES: Despair and displacement in Northwest Syria
Nearly 1 million people displaced by the military offensive in Idib province
The situation in Northwest Syria remains critical with thousands of people displaced by the military offensive in Idib province. We have kept you updated on the situation there.
Almost one million people, according to the UN, have been displaced over the past three months as a result of bombing and shelling in the province. Displaced people, many of whom have been displaced several times, face harsh weather conditions and they have to struggle to find a tent to stay in at overcrowded camps. Lack of shelter, proper sanitation and food are the main needs identified.
This follows aimless attacks on civilian areas in Idlib last Tuesday on 25 February where we received 185 wounded and 18 patients who were dead-on-arrival to the three hospitals near the frontlines that we support.
